The creation of the new Faculty of Business marks a milestone for Athabasca University and opens many doors for collaboration and innovation within our Faculty.  These are exciting times, and I am privileged to serve as Dean at this time of expansion and growth. Through the merger of the Centre for Innovative Management, home of the world’s first online MBA, and the School of Business, we offer students the full spectrum of online business education—from first year undergrad courses through to doctoral studies—all delivered with the flexibility, accessibility and quality that you expect from Canada’s leading online university. We have brought together the considerable academic strength and quality student services of the undergrad and graduate management programs to form Canada’s most comprehensive online business school—one with a storied past and a very bright future.

Our Faculty is a community where academics undertake business and management research that directly informs curriculum and practice; where students and academics work together to share ideas and learn both individually and collaboratively; where technology truly enhances students’ learning experiences and opportunities for success, and where students are the focus and the foundation of everything we do.  

Our Undergraduate Programs offer a wealth of individual business courses, as well as certificate programs and degrees with a wide range of majors.  You can choose a specific course or a full program of study, such as our Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Management.  The highly personalized format of our undergrad courses enables you to customize your course, courses or program to your individual learning needs, and lets you schedule courses at times that are right for you. 

The Centre for Innovative Management is home to the world renowned online Executive MBA which has been ranked by the Financial Times of London as one of the “Top EMBAs in the World.” Students and alumni in this program represent a broad cross section of managers and senior executives from across Canada and around the world.  Their impressive achievements have been a continual source of pride for our Faculty and University, and an affirmation of the quality of our online Executive MBA.
